Chronic Lower Back Pain - How to Fight and Win the Battle
Nagging lower back pain; no doubt just the mention of these words touches a nerve with thousands, if not millions of you, fighting this chronic curse of skeletal weakness. How did we get into this state where each morning's sunrise awakens our minds to limitless possibilities but our bodies to physical limitations and pain? More importantly how do we begin to successfully fight the sometimes never-ending battle against chronic lower back pain? * Use Your Mind: As with any fight in this physical world our battle to conquer lower back pain begins in our mind. Incessant pain in our bodies necessitates incessant strength in our minds. Experts will come and experts will go, twisting, messaging and cutting our backs but our lower back pain is likely to remain, if only in small amounts. Even if we are one of the lucky ones able to rid ourselves of the pain completely, the memory of years spent searching for a cure and doubts of possible re occurrence will linger. Expectation of a quick fix to a physical condition that has become part of our lives is unrealistic. A steady determined effort to fight our chronic lower back pain each day must begin in our minds and is imperative if we are to rise above and control our daily pain. * Take Ownership: We must take responsibility for the current condition of our lower back and take ownership of the associated pain. Only then will we take the next step necessary and educate ourselves in order that we might find the best possible methods and personnel to begin relieving our chronic lower back pain. * Education: The more we educate ourselves on a subject the less likely it is we will be taken advantage of or led astray. There will always be a level of trust necessary when once we hand over our bodies for repair. But wouldn't you agree that changing the brakes on our car enables us to speak with more confidence to an Auto Mechanic? The same common sense holds true if we want to have confidence when speaking with the Physical Mechanic charged with repairing our lower back. Though we are not able to do the actual work at least acquiring a broad overview on the subject and some basic terminology will help us communicate better when representing ourselves. It always helps to know as much as we can about a subject before taking action that may be irreparable. The bottom line is that ultimately we are responsible for our chronic lower pain back not someone else and we need to act accordingly. These are just a few of the common sense steps we can take to begin our fight against chronic lower back pain. Taking these steps will lead us down a responsible path that will alleviate our fear, bring us closer toward possible physical healing and help us to cope with the day-to-day menace of chronic lower back pain. |
